Children’s Birthday Parties – Moments They Always Remember

Friday, September 3rd, 2010

As a child, the one thing you look forward to any time is when you receive presents. Because of this, the two most special occasions that you wait for all year round are Christmas morning and your birthday, because these are the times when you enjoy lots of presents.

Children’s birthday parties have become very special occasions that require lots of planning. Throwing a party for your little one is not as easy as it once was and there are a number of reasons for that. There is a greater emphasis on birthday’s for children as an opportunity to share their special day with their friends.

What makes children’s birthday parties so special is the fact that it allows them to engage in lots of activities different from what they normally do. Even though they can have fun on a regular basis, their birthday party plays a very important role in their lives.

The problem of hosting children’s birthday parties is the beneficiaries. Our kids get smarter every day and parents need to be on top of their game in order to surprise their child and make sure that each birthday is something to remember. There is nothing worse for the same group of children all going to the same themed parties throughout the year. One can only be a pirate or fairy so many times!

Traditional children’s birthday parties involved inviting a few friends over, having some cake and soft drinks, playing some games and opening presents. Nowadays, the activities of a birthday party haven’t changed a lot, but they should be undertaken in special scenery, based on a theme and each activity should be in accordance with that theme to make things interesting.

In order to make sure that everything ties together perfectly, you should purchase children’s party supplies according to the theme you have chosen for the occasion. The main idea is to keep the kids entertained and amazed at the same time.

Games played at the party should also be in tone with the theme. For instance, pin the tail on the donkey is a great game for cowboy theme birthdays. Coloring is a generally accepted birthday activity that kids can undertake regardless of the theme.

Children’s party supplies play an important role in the course of the occasion. Every little detail is important, like balloons, cake plates with the required drawings on them, party blowers, and, when put together, they will make the celebration unforgettable.

Children’s party supplies can be bought from lots of places, but not all of them present the possibility of creating the amazing theme that you want for your child. Because of this you should turn to the internet to find everything you want to plan the best birthday party.

If you visit the website blissfulkidsparties.com.au you will find all the children’s party supplies needed for whatever theme you want to choose. For little boys, you can find supplies for themes like Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Captain Hook and more. For little girls, Cinderella, Tinkerbell, Barbie and the Little Mermaid are some of the most popular themes.

Ideas for Kids Themed Birthday Parties

Friday, September 3rd, 2010

Kids love to have a birthday party with a theme and all the decorations of their chosen character. There are many popular themes and the following list may give you a few ideas for your child’s next party.

Girls Parties

1. Dora the Explorer – This is a very popular theme for little girls. A great theme for a birthday party would be a Spanish birthday party complete with piñata. The children could have fun with a sombrero party which is played similar to musical chairs. Placing the hats on a table in a circle the children go around the table until the music (Spanish) goes off and then grab a hat.

2. Barbie – Every little girl loves Barbie. The theme of this party could be a makeover party. The birthday girl will have loads of fun as will her friends when they get to dress up like Barbie with real make-up too. All the little girls can have makeovers. Provide tiaras for them to wear as well. Of course, there are many Barbie games that can be played such as a treasure hunt for Barbie

3. Hannah Montana – The latest in the craze of girl’s role models is Hannah Montana. This would be an excellent birthday party theme for girls around the age of 8 to 10. A karaoke machine with music from Miley Cyrus is going to be a must. A make-shift stage will make a big hit and you can give prizes to the singers. Complete this with a cake in the shape of a giant CD.

4. Tinkerbelle – When it comes to fantasy, Tinkerbelle is probably number one. When planning this party make sure to purchase wings and wands for the party girls. The birthday girl can come dressed as Tinkerbelle. A tent in the back yard fixed up like a fairy castle would be a great addition to the party. This would also allow the girls room to sprinkle fairy dust as they play. Games adapted to the fairy theme such as tag are very popular for these parties.

5. High School Musical – This type of theme for a birthday party would be for your older children such as pre-teens. You will not have to provide games as you would for younger children. The music of course should be from the movie and your decorations will want to go along with this theme. Food will be your main thing. Provide all the snacks they like such as chips and dips and finger foods. Kids this age love to snack.

Boys Parties

1. Spongebob – This can be a fun time for your little boy. With bubbles, Spongebob stickers and all the sea creatures that live in Bikini Bottom, one great way to celebrate a birthday would be to have a pool party. Play hot potato in the water with the theme song from the show using sponges for the ’potato’. Serving crabby patties from the grill and other snacks will make this birthday special.

2. Super Mario Brothers – A great party idea for young children, the main food can be pizza and chocolate coin candy can be used for party favors. The theme music from the game can be played and a contest to see who can find the most mushrooms (you can make this yourself) will be part of the fun. A Yoshi piñata is another great idea for this birthday theme.

3. Pokemon – This can be a party that your child will remember. Either a game of Pokemon trivia can be played with Pokemon cards for the prizes or a Pokemon treasure hunt can be another idea. Kids love to be up moving around and this would be a great idea for keeping them busy. Of course you need the theme items for decorations and the cake.

4. Wall-E – A scavenger hunt allowing the kids to find their way back to Earth with every item they find on their list is a great Wall-E party idea. The game of Simon says with robot voices would be another. Find enough junk for the kids to work on their own robot. This can be loads of fun for the Wall-E party.

5. Kung Fu Panda – If you know someone who is knowledgeable in the art of Kung Fu, see if they are available to come to the party and show the kids a few moves. If not, you may be able to hire someone for an hour for a nominal fee. Be inventive and think of games that could incorporate the use of chopsticks. Have a sword fight with something non-dangerous such balloons.

Taking Good Pictures at Birthday Parties

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

Anyone can snap a few pictures, but to be good at it requires a little forethought and planning. The following tips will help you to take great pics!

Designate A Photographer – Designate someone to take photos at the party so you don’t have to worry about missing out on a shot because you were busy entertaining, setting up a game, serving, etc.

Sunlight Guidelines – Don’t pose people in front of windows as the outside sunlight will cause their faces to be too dark. This holds true even if you use a flash.

Work At Their Level – When taking photos of children, they will turn out better if you get down to their eye level. By doing this, your photo will be level with them, as opposed to slanting downward.

Candid Shots – Try to take as many candid shots as possible without the kids knowing that you are taking the pictures. This helps to avoid the “stretch-mouth” fake-looking smile.

Backgrounds – Before taking a photo, be aware of the backgrounds. Make sure there isn’t anything that will detract from your photo or look out of place. For example, something hanging on a wall could look like it is protruding from someone’s head if they stand in just the right place.

Sequence Of Photos – Take a sequence of photos to tell your party story from beginning to end. Mix it up by taking both posed and candid shots. Also, don’t forget to take a few group photos.

Pre-Party Photos – Be sure to take some photos of the party room decorations, birthday cake, and gift table before anyone arrives and things start to get invaded and destroyed.

Photos Of Guest Arrivals – Take pictures of your guests as they arrive, especially if it is a costume party. Time and heat have a way of causing people to begin to strip off their masks, remove wigs hats, and vests, along with causing make-up to run. So, if you want to capture your guests in their full garb, take those pics early on.

Party Activities – Take pictures of your guests playing various party games and activities, along with doing any crafts.

Double Shots – As we all know, one false move can cause an out-of-focus picture. Take double pictures of each shot in case someone blinked or the first one turned out blurry. To help alleviate this problem, use a tripod, or steady your arm by resting your elbow on your leg while squatting down.

Disposable Cameras – Consider making disposable cameras available for older guests. You will get an entirely different perspective of the party from those who are of the same generation, thus a way different point of view than your own.

Polaroid Cameras – Although Polaroid cameras have basically been replaced by digital cameras, they are still fun to have at a party. Kids love to watch the photos develop right before their very eyes and they make great party favors when framed.

BOTTOM LINE: Be prepared for taking good pictures. A few days before the party make sure your cameras are in working order, that you have all of their necessary components, charged batteries, and sufficient camera cards.

Having Children’s Birthday Parties

It is every parent’s dream and desire to make their child’s birthday party as happy and as memorable as it could be so that the memory may last an entire lifetime. Long before the occasion, the mother usually started saving and making some plans.

If the child is old enough to make suggestions, the first thing to do is sit down with your kid and find out what kind of birthday party he or she wants to have, whom does he or she wants to invite among his or her friends. Check your finances and discuss the allowable budget and then plan together for exciting and fun filled activities that your child and all their friends will never forget.

One perfect solution is an outdoor birthday party at the park where children have lots of space to have boot camp party. Children are taught about health and fitness and do a lot of activities to burn lots of energy like a platoon march, commando crawls, obstacle courses and other team games. It could also be a pirate party where children do treasure hunting, pirate games with clues and stories along the ways with lots of treasures to be won. The party could also be an engaging walk tour of selected zoo exhibits or museum or at the National Zoo where your child and your child’s friends would be equipped with safari outfits and hats with expert tour guides to go around explore the zoo for two long hours.

Some children love to celebrate at the backyard garden loaded with great fun and games, marvelous magic tricks, playful puppets, terrific tattoos and live real clowns. And if the kids are getting a little too wild, it’s time for an old-fashioned very short story telling. Gather everyone in a circle and tell a story, using the party go-ers as characters. Bigger children love to celebrate disco party as their theme. Real live DJs are invited to host the party, with lots of great music and with matching smoke machine and cool disco lights.

And of course, don’t forget the fabulous birthday cake and party favors of dolls, hats and all the things children love to have. Deliciously and kid-friendly food and drinks are very much appreciated together with game prizes, fantastic decorations, party ware and invitations, goodie bags and thank you gifts.

Parents, please do not forget to remember that the birthday party belongs to your child. Make it your primary goal to make the birthday child feel special and that everyone present has a real good time at the birthday party.

Horse Power Party Favors Are Perfect For Little Girls Birthday Parties

Saturday, August 7th, 2010

If you are planning a birthday party for a girl and you need a theme then Horse Power may be just for the girl who loves horses. Horse Power party favors and supplies will make your equine themed party fun for everyone, and includes everything that you need to make a wonderful party that everyone will remember.

If you want to pass out great party favours but don’t have a lot of time to concentrate on just kids loot bags, then you may want the pre-filled horse birthday party favors box, available for about five bucks. This box is filled with stickers, crayons and even a stuffed horse and a horse figuring which will make your little horse lovers go crazy.

If you prefer a more custom type of kids birthday party favors then you still can use the Horse Power party favors box, and create your own items to put into it. You can use pictures that your kids have drawn, your own plush toys as gifts or perhaps a ticket to ride a pony, should you happen to have one.

Pre filled favors boxes are a great way to make sure that your party is memorable, and your daughter will thank you when her friends can’t forget about the birthday party and are still talking about it days or weeks later. A horse themed party will certainly make any girl the talk of the class for a while, and Horse Power party favors can help you reach that goal.

Party favors have quite a history dating back to what is assumed is about sixteenth century Europe, although giving away favors cannot be traced back precisely. It is known that Nobles in the middle ages gave away sugar confections in fancy dishes or containers to show their prestige, nobility and wealth since sugar was a fairly expensive luxury afforded by few.

Girls love Horse Power party favors and supplies, because girls love horses. Horses are a companion like no other, allowing for conversation, riding and a girl and her horse can grow even closer than two human beings can. Going for long rides up the trail or through the woods can be an experience like no other.

You’ll love giving the children the opportunity to talk and play horses during your Horse Power themed party with Horse Power party favors and Horse Power party supplies like banners, cups, plates, cake platters and centerpieces. If you don’t happen to own horses, then you might create a stable and other horse fixtures in your backyard out of cardboard.

If you want to make it an all out equestrian theme or occasion then simply use the available Horse Power party supplies like dishes and napkins and all kinds of Horse Power items. This will make your party even better and memorable for a very long time.

Birthday Parties – Make Your Child’s Birthday Memorable

Friday, August 6th, 2010

It is not necessary to organize an expensive party or a party with a complicated theme. A few guidelines on arranging birthday parties can help you in making your child’s birthday party a unique one.

At the onset, avoid making a big guest list as more the number of children, higher the costs. Limit your guest list to few of your child’s close friends and close members of your family.

If you have birthday parties at home then you can cut costs as hiring a venue will turn out to be expensive. It is best to have a theme party to make your home very exciting for the kids. You can ask the little ones to dress up as someone who is the current rage and send it in the invitation itself. Buying themed accessories for the kids will be all the more apt.

It will be a real treat for the children if you organize a few games in the birthday parties. Children get excited at the very prospect of participating and winning prizes.  Incorporating the theme into the games is also an excellent idea.  To give you an example, if you have chosen the theme of pirates, you can organize a treasure hunt with prizes and clues.

After the conclusion of the games the children tend to feel very hungry. Homemade food reduces the cost of food as catering is costly. Moreover kids don’t eat much, so a catering service will prove futile. Birthday cake, crisps, sandwiches are the items liked by the children and can be the ideal menu for birthday parties.

When the party ends the children wait eagerly for their return gift. These gifts are a token of thanks given to them for attending the birthday party. The party bag fillers like sweet and toys can be used to fill these party bags that can be handed over as return gifts. They need not be very exorbitant. Various websites offer attractive deals and discounts on these party bags. Net party toys are also available on the websites. The rates are economical. It is a time and energy saving option. You can order them online and relax. There is no need for you to go shopping in person for the same. Home delivery is absolutely a hassle free enterprise.

Patriotism in Theme Parties

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

There are various ways to show a person’s love for one’s country. Those who would love to include national pride in joyous events can buy patriotic party supplies from theme shops around the country. There are different items that can be bought for this kind of event. All of these items have a certain aura of national pride and are associated with events and moments in history. Stores that offer poodle skirt costumes, which have been popular during the war era, will definitely have nationalistic items that can be used as decorations for the party. Here are some ideas for the party decorations using this theme.

Lights are fabulous for the event given the colors are of the national colors. The novelty lights which are similar to the ones put up during Christmas can be bought from patriotic party supply stores. For those wearing poodle skirt costume, you may find that you are in the limelight since the costume can reflect the light quite well as they have colorful shades similar to the ones emitted by the lights.

Flowers are important elements for patriotic party themes. There are many kinds of flowers that can be grown easily so that they may bloom during the time of the event. These flowers also have various colors thus the organizers can select the shade they would love to have during the event. Some flower seeds can be bought from stores that sell both patriotic party supplies and poodle skirt costumes. It is important that the organizers can take care of the plants so that they will not die as the event date comes closer. They can store the plants in the garden or in small pots which they can put in good locations.

What type of outfit can you wear for a patriotic themed party? Well, something that reflects love and heroism for the country and what better costume can there be than the soldier or navy costume? Obviously any soldier or navy costume throughout the history will do and they need not be exactly depicting the real attire. As for ladies, the poodle skirt costume has become a primer choice since the 50′s. The most important thing is that the guests coming for this event should be sporting on a costume that reflects patriotism and only that will be able to make the scene come to life.

Accessories makes the costume come to life and more interesting. Pins are a great type of accessory that can be attached to the costume. These could be in an image of flag or national hero. A bigger pin is needed for those wearing poodle skirt costume so that others can notice it. Both guests and host can buy other accessories that can accompany the outfit such as symbolic flowers. They don’t really cost much but if you buy them in bulk at patriotic party supply store, you can get them for a very cheap price indeed.

Nothing shows love for one’s country more than waving a flag. During the 50s when poodle skirt costumes are popular, men and women can be seen in the streets waving flags whenever soldiers return home from battle. Thus, for patriotic theme parties, putting flags in selected areas of the location will be the best decoration. There are different sizes of flags which can be bought as part of patriotic party supplies. The flags can either be made of real cloth or in other materials. The flag can also be put in the food items, especially in cakes and pastries which will be served during the event.

As mentioned before, poodle skirt costume and patriotic party supply can be bought at any store selling themed party items. Online stores also offer a very good range of selection of items for patriotic themed party and are as convenient as physical stores. Not only that, they go the extra mile by providing delivery service and sometimes offer fabulous discounts and offers. This certainly eliminates the needs to scout high and low and across town in search for the perfect patriotic party themed items.
